Chess/Checker Tables in our parks: My motion to introduce chess/checker tables into our parks was supported at recent area committee meeting. Ideally chess pieces are held in a local coffee shop which can be handed out for a small refundable deposit. You can also arrive with your own pieces; I’ve asked council management to consider introducing chess/checker tables as soon as possible.

Community Clean-Ups: Community clean-ups are always happening in our area! I can confirm that there were at total of 801 clean-ups in the Lucan area from 2020 to 2023. (2020 232, 2021 183, 2022 194, 2023-to date 192). Groups looking to get involved in the Social Credits Scheme should visit www.socialcredits.ie to find an application form. Alternatively, they can email envawareness@sdublincoco.ie I can assist groups by collecting and delivering the materials such as bags, gloves, litter pickers, paint, brushes etc.
