Swimming Pool: My motion calling on the CEO to seek expressions of interest for a public/private partnership arrangement to construct a Swimming Pool in Lucan was passed at this month’s Lucan Area committee meeting. 2 other motions in relation to the pool were also passed. There was reluctance from council officials to commit to my motion but I insisted that as resources at national and local level are limited we should explore every possible source of funding. I pointed out during the meeting that the SDCC building itself was built through a PPP arrangement and is now fully owned by the council.

Lucan Sarsfield’s Footpath: I can confirm further to my motion last October that the council have committed to consider including the provision of a footpath between the Irish Wheelchair Association and Lucan Sarsfields.
