Lucan Newsletter 24/4/2026
April 4, 2026
I have received enquiries from residents interested in learning more about accessing certain
medical procedures abroad. I am exploring a local information workshop in Lucan to
outline how the process works, travel considerations, aftercare and available options. If
interested, please contact me directly.
At the recent Regional Health Forum I raised healthcare issues affecting Lucan and
Adamstown. The HSE confirmed Adamstown Primary Care Centre is now operational
providing physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics, public
health nursing, child health clinics, wound care clinics and Coombe outreach midwifery
clinics. CAMHS services are expected shortly.
I also raised Lucan dental shortages. The HSE confirmed there is currently no HSE dentist in
Lucan and no local practice accepting new adult medical card patients under the scheme.
I will continue advocating for improved services and a second Primary Care Centre for
Lucan.
