MOTION: Councillor L. O’Toole

“That this Area Committee, noting the high volume of traffic in particular HGV and construction traffic that are using the Newcastle road has resulted in significant damage in parts, requests the Chief Executive repair the road from the N4 to the junction at the Finnstown Abbey/Tandys Lane, and also include replacing the existing bollards that are on the Newcastle Road in particular the ones just outside Finnstown Castle Hotel as they are no longer visible due to the high levels of dust on the Newcastle Road.”

REPORT:

The Newcastle Road is not included in the 2018 Roadworks Programme. However the Area Engineer will be asked to monitor the condition of the road and replace any missing bollards.
