COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

South Dublin County Council Crest

MEETING OF LUCAN AREA COMMITTEE

Tuesday, September 23, 2014

MOTION NO. 12

MOTION: Councillor L. O’Toole

“To request that the Chief Executive considers all possible measures to be put in place around Lucan to help alleviate traffic congestion, particularly during the upcoming road works, including opening bus lanes at pinch points and prioritising traffic lights to facilitate traffic trying to cross/access the Outer Ring Road and the N4. To further request that points men are put in place at road works during peak times to minimise traffic congestion?”

REPORT:

Any upcoming road works implemented in the Lucan area by South Dublin county Council will adhere to strict contract conditions in conformance with statutory guidelines and licencing procedures and will adhere to approved Traffic Management Plans and the Traffic Signs Manual. In general, works are programmed to cause minimum disruption to motorists but in particular vulnerable road users during the construction period and at peak hours.
