MOTION: Councillor L. O’Toole

“That this Committee requests that SDCC examines the speed limits that are currently in place adjacent to all schools in the Lucan and Palmerston area with a view to reducing speed limits to a limit appropriate for school areas.”

REPORT:

The Council has commenced a consultation with its citizens in relation to the provision of improved safety in residential areas as part of its review of speed limits in the County. Following this consultation the Council intends to prepare a new speed limit bye law which should address the issue.
