MOTION: Councillor L. O’Toole

“That this Committee requests SDCC to examine the pedestrian access between the Irish Wheelchair Association, the Maxol garage and Lucan Sarsfields GAA club on the Newcastle road with a view to extending the existing pedestrian pathway to give safe access to the aforementioned.”

REPORT:

There is not adequate width in the current road footprint to provide a footpath to SDCC specification. However, there is a long term plan to re-align the Newcastle Road at this location. The proposed scheme will include for a path. Funding is currently being sought for the scheme.
