MOTION: Councillor L. O’Toole

That this Council welcomes the full opening of Lucan Leisure Centre, including the gym and
swimming pool facilities which are now experiencing very strong usage levels and reportedly
have waiting lists in place. In light of the increasing demand on the existing car park this Council
calls on the Chief Executive to examine parking arrangements at the facility including whether
areas within the site could be redesigned to provide additional parking spaces and whether
separate staff parking arrangements could be explored to maximise public parking availability.

REPORT:

The current number of parking spaces have been provided in accordance with the approved
Part 8.
Noting the current demands on the car park; new car park line markings have been applied to
maximise the existing car parking.
SDCC are examining and progressing /and costing the feasibility of providing additional parking
and staff parking within the current site boundary.
