MOTION NO. 22

MOTION: Councillor L. O’Toole

“That this Committee requests the Chief Executive provide an update on the installation of the new street lights for the Beech Park area, similar to the lights recently installed in the Chalet Gardens and along the Main Road.”

REPORT:

A commitment has been made by Public Realm and the Public Lighting Section to install a new PL scheme on the open space between Cherbury and Beech Park. In addition, a new PL scheme will be installed later on this year at Lucan Newlands Road.

The existing PL at Beech Park is pre 1990s and as such is unsuitable for upgrade at the present time due to a technical issue, which is currently being examined at national level.
