PROPOSED REZONING LANDS ACROSS LUCAN: This week I received the Chief Executive’s
Report in relation to Proposed Variation No.2 to the South Dublin County Development Plan
2022–2028. The report is extremely detailed running to hundreds of pages and I am currently
working through the sections relating specifically to the Lucan area.
Over the coming days I will continue engaging with residents, local groups and community
stakeholders to examine the recommendations and prepare potential amendments ahead of
the upcoming Special Council Meeting.
Particular focus will now be placed on lands and proposals affecting the wider Lucan area
including Adamstown West, Finnstown Castle Hotel lands, St. Edmundsbury, Foxhunter and
other proposed zoning areas.
Future growth must be properly planned alongside the delivery of essential transport,
community and strategic infrastructure needed to support existing and future communities
locally.
